We're continuing from yesterday's thread in which we discussed Bond 26 and the franchise in general. What we know so far:
>Denis Villeneuve is the director
>Shooting is scheduled for early 2026
>Writer's room is assembled to crack the script; Villeneuve will approve the drafts
>Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the "first choice" for the new Bond and the bookies' favourite
Discuss.

It should be a prequel showing Bond in the SAS. Timothy Chalemet would be perfect.

Imagine trying to write a Bond movie with ESG/DEI mandates and mentally walking on eggshells not to piss off oversocialized groups of nutjobs on social media. I don't see how any writer with any sense of self-respect would take that job. Bond, as a franchise and character, could not be more "toxic" to the clown world of today. The only way Bond could ever work is as an anime because they're the only ones that adhere to the three principles of good media:
>Cool main character; idol to men and boys
>Fun and adventure with no political messaging
>A harem of cute babes around the MC
You will get none of this in any new Bond movie. What's the point in caring at all?

He's the best compromise you're going to get.
>has the looks and the experience
>only downside is his high-pitched voice (which he can tune) and the fact he's out-spokenly Jewish which is a good gambit because he can act more like Bond would than Craig the goy

>what is 90's Bondmania
you're an underage idiot who should shut their fucking mouth. in the Y2K era Bond was a monolithic character because he was played by the great Pierce Brosnan and had a movie out every 2 years and AAA games in between. Craig destroyed the character's pop culture status. it went from the biggest thing around to some meme relic. depressing.

No need for a compromise. Just cast him properly or get Cavill.

David Arnold was recommended by John Barry back in the day but he's probably not getting asked back. Villeneuve loves his drone so we're probably getting some boring shit but I would've liked to see John Powell or Howard Shore write a Bond score.

It is not going to be Cavill. He's already well past his prime and declining. They're looking to cast someone for 4-5 films and Cavill will be mid 50s by the end of that. Why would they do that?

Brosnan is the best in everything. He perfected the Bond formula and all they had to do was scale it back to GoldenEye instead of rebooting it into a Bourne clone which forever sullied the image of the franchise as a trailblazer.

It´s pretty simple really, no Cavill no buy. Yes, i know it´s the most obvious and "boring" choice but it´s still the right one. Has the looks, has the body, has the experience with both MI and UNCLE showing he can play both the Brosnan and Craig angles.

Honestly the only reason not to cast him is because of his age. Like, he is totally fine now but he´d be like 50 by the third movie. There is no reason nor room to try to be innovative with Bond. You need the classic predictable choice because that´s what works. Subversion be damned and adapting for the modern audience is a meme.

An even better take would be Bond in the SRR, which explicitly links into MI6. Or if they want it generic SAS E-Squad

A young bond going through SRR selection would be KINO
