Its a war. I'd say setting up Ahsoka to fail at becoming a Jedi and not dying is small potatoes to actually sending a Knight and his padawan onto somebackwater planet to lead a contingent of clones against an enemy they've never faced before. Would you rather fail high-school or be sent to Mars to fight aliens at the age of 15?
