Susie and Dess meeting (assuming DessKnight) could be pretty sad. Susie is the new tomboy princess in town, she's the new light in both Kris and Noelle's life, she is the driving force of change vs the haunting ghost of somebody people couldn't move on from. Which makes me think Dess probably can't be saved in this story, she doesn't belong in the present anymore.
Also depends on how Dess herself is she's still conscious would feel about all of this, maybe she's selfless, maybe she's sad and angry her life has been stolen from her and now the world goes on
