Sounds like a great challenge, i guess the main benefit and motivator is that you get to dictate what it is capable of so there's no real restrictions besides ones own ability to bring this to life. Personally i've only got my hands dirty with modifying existing games to my liking and sharing my work online with decently good reception so i guess i could call myself half a decent modder.

Not everything has to be avant garde or shake the foundations of one's thinking an emotions to be good. Sometimes the shinniest gems can be small too. My only real dive into writing was many years ago. Looking back on it, its not 100% bad or cringe but it can definitely use a facelift. I think my biggest issue would be the pacing since one cant tell when exactly is the right time to say, introduce a character, how long there's gonna be a turmoil between characters and so on. One thing i can say for sure is that my writing (if any at all) is heavily influenced with personal experiences in my life but also from other media sources. Not so much self-inserting but more about passing along things i've experienced in a way that it fits along the story which im hoping that is interesting enough.
