The rules are understood mostly fine. It's just easy to lose track of what you did, when half the time, someone's either messing with your pieces to do the action for you to move things along, or is going "go go go it's fine just go" when trying to read the things you're trying to play/think about your next move/correct a mistake in gamestate.
