Good imagination is worth more than gold, I am always grateful for mine. But you don't even necessarily need that to be taken along for the ride, it's just a signature of good storytelling to be able to captivate you and forget you're watching a movie (or reading a book or playing a game). Not deep or profound, just engrossing.

Fucking cutscene after Amaurot? That was the gold standard of cutscenes. It was just such incredible cinematographical work given the abject limitations of XIv's cutscenes. Then compare that to stand around and stare at Babagool getting killed and it's ahhhhhh
