dmd2 with tile controlnet can be great for upscales, I use it for my chroma -> SDXL upscale workflow. but I've noticed it tends to destroy anime art styles that are too sketchy, stylized, or painterly. especially the fine line art details. maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it was just the upscale phase...
