9 years ago, Toriyama introduced the most divisive character to spawn from the franchise. All out of his nostalgia for Kamen Rider and acknowledging the fanfic hype for Goku to fight against a dark yet divine mirror match of himself (i.e. he literally saw the first Evil Goku Photoshop edit on DeviantArt and called it a day)
