>As others have said, the black car doesn't factor into it at all because you both have your own lanes to turn into.
This is technically true but it follows the same concept as zipper merging, meaning no one fucking does it. You can't be sure the other driver actually knows this and will follow it. I make this turn everyday and people just go into what lane they feel like. So the black car does factor in because of unpredictability.
>you might not have needed to yield at all to the pedestrian in the first place since they are not yet in the half of the road you are turning onto
I wasn't planning on yielding to the pedestrians given how far away they were. Unless there are some weird light changes I'm not aware of right when they press the button, the black car decided to yield to the pedestrians since I'm assuming he had a normal green for his right.
>Instead of starting the turn, you should have pulled out straight
I think this is what I should have done. I was just assuming the black car would go so I moved out so far I would get hit by the next group of approaching cars. Basically the black car yielding with such a huge distance between the pedestrians completely fucked me because I already moved to far into oncoming traffic. Even after reading the thread I still think the black car was the bigger fucking retard assuming he had a green light and the pedestrians were illegally crossing.
This is the way my light is set up by the way and it was in fact blinking.
