i absolutely love world building in bl and bl-adjacents though. the moment when it almost implied that hikaru killed the crazy oldbag was great cause i thought he was hiding something else besides his real appearance. but nah gotta loredump about the town instead and hikaru's origin got exposed almost immediately. i also wished they showed more "monster" side of him instead of making him immediately regrets what he did since he's supposed to be some eldritch being that doesn't know what's right or wrong yet.
