>Gypsy Tricks - Untamed (Mix 10)
https://vocaroo.com/1aDvKKu9zw8W

Looks like it's some of the mixing I did on the vocals as a result of compensating for those cheaper headphones. Listening on my monitors again it's apparent there is way too much shimmer/air on the high end of the vocals. I had dipped the mids of the vocals to allow some more of the guitar to come through and apparently boosted the high end. That's what is resulting in that strange spectrograph.

Also found that the master compressor preset I had loaded was boosting treble higher than mids so I toned that down. I adjusted everything to what I think sounds a little better but now I feel it's lacking too much in the high end. Maybe my hearing is just fucked, which is obviously not good.

In short...
>changed mix bus compression to something more gentle. what i used had some treble boosting
>lowered high end of vocal track
>turned on SSL compression for a more subtle glue effect overall
>remixed guitars and panned with more intent
>removed the noodley guitar riff over the twinkly one, instead it switches to the twinkly one after the noodley one, less busy overall
>boosted mids in the vocals to give more fullness (might be lacking some presence now, lmk)
>did some mid-side EQ on the cymbal to further push it towards center in the mix
>readjusted some volumes to have vocals sit better in the mix
>boosted the low end on the drums to better match the reference track
>brought out the snare tone more in the low-mid range

I think that's it. Sorry for the fucking blog post but I greatly appreciate anyone and everyone who commented on this track. Considering going forward with any music I make having it uploaded to streaming services. Does anyone know what requirements to meet streaming standards are? I'm exporting at 48k/16bit for cleanest sound. My interface only records 16 bit or I would go for the full 24 bit.
