From an evolutionary standpoint it also makes sense because a woman that has fucked a lot of men has a higher chance of carrying (often fatal or life-ruining, in the old days) diseases. For most of history venereal diseases could be a death sentence, so being repulsed by probable whores was actually a survival mechanism.

It's incredibly unnatural and novel for modern nu-males to claim that their wife/girlfriend having fucked a bunch of prior dudes doesn't bother them. Modern women obviously hate the fact that most men find whores repulsive (in terms of long-term relationship material) but you can't change millennia of biologic/social/cultural development in less than 100 years.
