Would you have kept investing after 3 red years back to back, then a bunch of 3% years, followed by a -38% crash?

9 years of nothing.
But the payoff after that was massive.

I'm not planning to retire for another 20 years at least so in theory I'd have no reason not to keep putting money aside for however long it takes. But in practice I don't know if I could do it.
