I spent an hour today brewing 1K lists using the contents of the Combat Patrol magazine as a starting point with some guidelines
>Everything in the initial retail Combat Patrol boxes has to be included
>The bonus models the magazine threw in are optional
>If I already have a model from somewhere else I should slot that in first (ie: Kommandos from KT in Orks)
>Marines goes full Salamanders, adds in the bonus Brutalis Dread, Adrax Agatone, a 10-man Infernus blob, and some Eradicators
>Nids just get some Warriors for the Winged Tyranid Prime to lead and some Hive Guard for the Hive Tyrant
>Eldar get Jain Zar since their bonus model are some Howling Banshees along with some Fire Dragons cause the models look cool
>CSM & World Eaters trade bonus models (CSM get the Forgefiend, WE get the Daemon Prince)
>CSM went Iron Warriors flavorwise and get a Warpsmith to go with the Forgefiend/Helbrute and a Sorcerer Terminator to lead the Terminator blob
>World Eaters get the Prince + Kharn and a squad of Exalted Eightbound
>Orks get a Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun to lead the Boyz, a 3-man Meganobz squad for the Warboss, the aforementioned Kommandos, and another 10-man blob of Boyz
>Votann I got lazy since the range is so small and the Old Combat Patrol + the new one + the freebie Hearthguard/Thunderkyn the magazine gives you an even 920 points. I'll probably redo this one when the codex drops
>I already have a shit-ton of Guard stuff so I just doubled up on the FOB/Sentinel and added a Krieg command squad/infantry squad in place of the Cadian squad. I also added a Leman Russ because it fit the leftover points and a Rogal Dorn feels like too much for 1k points.
>GSC was easy since their old Combat Patrol was stacked, so its that + Jackals/Brood Coven (Their bonus stuff) + some Genestealers for the Patriarch to lead)
I will probably only commit to making only half of these lists and only because I have a bunch of those models already (Guard, World Eaters)
