Aster's streams were terrible, perhaps the worst in the company.
Remember that he was part of the massively-advertised ILuna wave, which got the biggest numbers on debut of any wave. And he was an integral reason why that wave failed and achieved record lows.

He would stream League. Every day, all the time. He would not talk, and would mostly mumble angrily to himself while ignoring chat. He was treating vtubing not as "this is my livelihood", but more along the lines of "might as well make some extra money while I'm relaxing". The fact that a stream was running was almost an annoyance to him.
He didn't need the vtubing job. He seemed to have a large source of money from somewhere else. He posted about buying a car and a house while his coworkers were complaining about rent payments.

If he didn't need the vtubing job, why was he even there? What is the purpose?
The only answer that comes to mind is that he wanted to be there to abuse the position. He wanted to use the status of being a NijiEN member to lord over artists and community members, and fulfill his fetishes. He was definitely indulging his fetishes through streaming, and was very much into being a girl. He debuted a girl-outfit, and talked like a girl. Despite acting very gay, he apparently wasn't.
