Planned economies were impossible before, but with big data and AI, it's very likey that a planned economy can be more efficient than the market system and even the price mechanism if you're familiar with economics. More efficient because there's calculation behind it and it can be optimized beyond money which is partly limited by ad hoc laws of nature.
