Also, that disconcerting middle eastern acceptance/lack of conviction: "We think that there are four souls! The jews think there are five! Plato talks of three! Our neighbors say there are seven! Let's spend the whole afternoon chatting about that!" One assumes that, having access to the upper realities for the last five or six millenia, the number of souls should have been already stablished with some degree of precision.
