Seconding pretty much everything said itt. Even when art grifters manage to give decent or even good advice while shitting out their daily slop videos it's often presented in the most unhelpful way, possibly harming the progress of beginner artists. What >>7641301
said rings true, it took years for me to realize I was also stuck on a "stage" and never developed a workflow that suited me. Though plenty of blame can be placed on my young dumbass self interpreting everything extremly literally and barely understanding things beyond surface level, some of the art tutorials I followed tended to format their advice like "DON'T EVER DO THIS, DO IT LIKE THIS" rather than "generally it's easier to do it like this so the result looks better" which only made things worse for me. Many begs don't have a specific style they're aiming for but rather just wish to express their ideas visually at a decent level, and the classics take this into account and introduce many ways to approach illustrating and encourage experimentation. "Do's and don'ts" just seem to make up arbitary rules that steer beginners to adopt a style the tutorials creator prefers.
