In hindsight it's crazy how long equipment from WW2 stuck around, especially the heavy equipment. 1960-1975 half the Dutch army were essentially USGIs, right down to the venerable Shermans. A very, very good thing that the height of the USSR coincided with the superpowers being distracted with each other in Vietnam.
