I mean if you look at the grand total of what happened to her it's pretty horrific, she lost her family, her people, her place in the world, and was enslaved, and then the one hope she ever had of getting back any of the things she lost, her wings, gets infected because her captors won't listen to her and end up being violently sawn off her body, which almost kills her (she only survived because Quayle saved her) and she realizes she's now trapped on the ground forever and will never see her family again, and she's now basically a cripple to her people (and in her own view of herself). And keep in mind all of this happened to her when she was a kid. And on top of that, all of this happened to her simply because she tried to save another kid from slavers, and she doesn't even know if he even got away and if it meant anything at all.

I think that would massively fuck most people up, so I didn't hold it against her that she felt so bad, lonely, and miserable. Crying about that kind of thing is only natural.
