The malezen known as Riallant ("Rial" or "Mister Melf" or "El Melfino de Crimsone" to his friends) perished this morning during his Grand Eggspedition to the Azim Steppe. Witnesses say that he was plundering the nests of the Dotharl tribe when a vast army of femra from several of the local tribes appeared atop the slopes of Little Bigtail, a nearby hill, and attacked without warning. Although his body was not recovered, femra experts say that his survival is not possible, and that he was surely run to ground somewhere in the desert and died most likely of blood loss from thousands upon thousands of kicks to the shins.

A funeral service is to be scheduled in his hometown of Gridania as soon as the Elementals permit, according to his final charitable behests his collection of firearms, dangerous magical relics, and unstable alchemy supplies are to be donated to the Shady Roots Orphanage for Disadvantaged Children.
