We're currently on track for (over) 4 degrees of warming by 2100, which doesn't sound so bad, but 2 degrees was supposed to be the "goal" (lmao) for "merely very very bad consequences in our lifetime (just more PR put than that)." Very bad means we're gonna need new words for the hurricanes, flooding, heat waves that'll happen. Also the pathogens. There's LOTs of nasty bugs out there just waiting for vectors to come bring them a little further from the Africa to kick us in the teeth. We're already at a point where "fire season" is just "fire", and "records breaking" every year.
Well really, every time we reassess it gets worse. So more than that.
Actually I recall bitcoin was flat out doubling our heating rate, and that was before AI entered popular usage.
The only reason people aren't out there screaming is because humans don't compute things that big. They can think as far as "eating today and tomorrow", pretty much.
