Actual real and authentic option here since most people are just gonna whine about American culture war shit. I stopped watching him when he stopped reviewing interesting music and kept pushing more and more trap rap to get a bigger following while giving trap albums a higher score on average than other stuff and arguing that “the genre needs to be judged in its own merits when called out on it”. I also lost a lot of respect for him when he deleted his meme channel due to the Fader piece. I get mellowing out on the whole edgy internet thing as you get older and maybe not wanting to associate with Sam Hyde anymore after the pedophile thing but his whole image just became really lame and sterile afterwards. Even his profile pic changed from an “angry reviewer” kinda thing to a harmless corporate art smiling thing. At least he had the balls to call out Sleep Token for being shit instead of bending to poptimism for once so that’s cool.
