Humanity was prey for over 99% of human existence in the Pokemon world. Anyone who bitches about it can go wander off into the wilderness without a Pokemon and go eat berries.
That's assuming you can find berries without getting you shit kicked in and then possibly eaten by another hungry Pokemon.
