Main MC probably gets filtered at Misty. He's still inexperienced with real battling, and has a Bulbasaur that gives him an edge against her and Brock, but it's not leveled very much yet.
Second MC is in the same boat, probably putting up a better fight against Misty because she's much more proficient at defensive battling but a Yamask and Squirtle just don't have the stopping power to put down her Starmie.

I've been big into vore for a long time so my understanding of weird is pretty skewed. But I wrote a fic where a SI MCand Erika were attacked by an Entei. On further notice, I wonder how veganism / vegetarianism is managed in the pokemon world. While artificial meat is one (inconvenient) option, you'd be relient on supplements to compensate for the lack of vitamins etc. which you can find in natural meat. I think people in rural areas have a more traditional diet while townsfolk are more progressive in this regard.

Also, killing pokemon could be a necessary evil considering a too high number of herbivores can devastated entire ecosystems, when e.g. they eat the bark of trees, which can result in forests dying. Unless there are no natural predators (which are mentioned multiple time in the pokedex), humans have to step in and cull their numbers. So why not put the meat to use when population control is inevitable?

It'd have to be very specific species that'd make for good eating. Predators higher up on the food chain are the endpoint for a lot of bacteria and parasites, Pokémon comprised of gases, minerals and objects are just a choking hazard with little nutrition, Some Poison types could be viable with extensive preparation like with modern Fugu but you only need your chef to fuck up once, Ghosts might just curse or possess you if you even try. Pokémon modelled after mammals, fish and birds we already eat IRL would be the safest options I think. You could also eat the bugs but sparingly, humans aren't actually that good at processing chitin in those amounts.

To turn the question around which wild Pokémon species are the most dangerous to people?

Well, the official pokemon shut in has a team of eeveelutions. Cats were my first thought as they are most likely to be the pets of irl shut ins. Komala and Slakoth are also good choices since they are content to sleep all day, or slow moving mons like the salt rock or a nosepass who don't need a lot of space to frolic. Then there are object mons and other urban habitat pokemon that would are already at home around buildings like trubish or klefki. In my story it's as such:

I made a short 3 minute video. It's a story about a Litwick and his trainer after they meet in Celestial Tower.

It's pretty short and more of an experiment, but I honestly really like how it came out. It was my first attempt at using FL Studio (for the chill version of the Dragonspiral Tower theme at the beginning), and presenting things in a visual novel format.

I've got one of the MC's travelling companions have a Pikachu as her ace in a duo with a Meowth. It's sort of an Ashchu expy, but its personality is more 'shares a single braincell with its trainer' sort of vibe. They sort of act like mirrors to each other and like to be the center of attention. Meowth is totally on board, but is also mischievous so Pikachu has to act like the straight man to Meowth specifically.

Pikachu is just as much, if not more, of an improvisation merchant as Ash is memed to be. In a good number of battles Ash will at some point shout some retarded non-command like "watch out!!" or "do something!" and Pikachu will come up with an answer on the fly. It's probably his greatest strength, along with his innate stubbornness. He refuses to evolve, refuses to go in a pokeball, and in a fight he'll refuse to go down until his tiny body can truly no longer take it, which is surprising for his size.

Does he NEED Ash? It's strange, Ash is so deeply retarded I truly believe Pikachu matches him in strategy against most opponents out of instinct and experience at this point, but maybe this unknowingly helps the two as it makes them more in synch and thus boosts their friendship and bond powers.

I think N works best preaching the harsh truth of the incompatibility of humans and pokemon. His goal feels fundamentally pessimistic to me. So Reshiram for him. Aesthetically Reshiram is a better match too.
Then the protagonist represents idealistic belief in happy cooperation between humans and pokemon. When's the right time to evolve a Pokemon? I'm trying to get my MC to be strong enough to deal with real opposing trainers who aren't scaled to them but ideally a bit beyond them. There are a couple narrative forces at play trying to make the evolution happen, but as I'm writing the chapter the evolution is supposed to happen in, it's just not feeling earned. We haven't spent enough time with the pre-evo yet.

For better or for worse, Pikachu is way too tied-up at the hip to Ash, and Red for that matter. People want to avoid such baggage.

What would the power scaling between weapons and pokemon be?
A) Guns are underpowered and thus useless, as even the weakest pokemon species can become bulletproof via moves / abilities / items etc.
B) Guns are capable of harming pokemon, yet fighting more powerful ones still requires you using pokemon of your own.
C) Guns are overpowered, capable of causing massive destruction, with super weapons even surpassing the power of legendaries.
D) It's a mix of A)-C). There are outdated weaker and modern stronger weapons. With most pokemon being adapted to the former, and the latter being specifically designed to exploit certain type or species related weaknesses or enhanced by drawing their power from a legendary pokemon or artefacts.
