Chasing your dreams? CHASING YOUR DREAMS?
HAHAHAHAHA. SONIC DOESN'T HAVE A DREAM, YOU FOOL!! Just like the characters in Sonic's world, you're only looking at the good things about him. At his core, he is empty, a slave to hedonism who can do nothing but distract himself by helping others achieve their happy future, while he himself doesn't have one.
But the series will never tackle that. They'll never show what Sonic does when people don't need or want him, because then, he has no purpose, no goal, no future. They'll keep everyone (example: Tails) as slaves to him. They'll keep them weak, dependent, ignorant, insecure, and self-loathing, just so Sonic can have a purpose. And you're just like them. You'll never question anything, you'll think it's fine that you're stuck groveling on the ground in comparison to a blue rat for all eternity. You LIKE it down there! Pathetic.
If only Sonic can save the world, that's not inspirational, that's depressing. Knowing that, if not for this guy, everyone would be dead, is fucking sad. Where's the incentive towards hard work? There's none. The series doesn't want you to work hard to be like Sonic. The series doesn't tell you to improve yourself so you can save the world. You yourself have admitted that's impossible. No, the point is to make you a slave. You serve Sonic by being saved, taught and """inspired""" by him, eternally. It's a sick, perverted tactic to make people dependent on a character.
And the worst of all? In none of the windfag rants do I ever hear about self-sacrifice. Virtue? What's that? Is it tasty? Why, I couldn't imagine my role model being someone who can never sacrifice himself. Never. That's a disgusting, hollow shell of a person, really. Even Superman, who is one of the Gariest stus, has self-sacrifice.
Sonic was MADE to be a self-insert, my friend. That's it.

At least I don't have to self-insert as a children's franchise cartoon animal to feel empowered. But to each their own.
