What kind of sand?
Any kind of light colored daub will work
Desert bases are alright but you need to farm things in bulk
It's not an issue in the long run
If you're interested in terrraforming the area however it sucks ass cause the grass is piss yellow
You can't grow apples or pears but the rest of the fruits can be grown
No winter and no snow buildup
If you can go past the piss yellow grasses then go for it
