Thanks for your feedback. Although I do like the ideas you put out, I just don’t think they’d fit him as I envisioned. While he is more relaxed and wise cracking like you mentioned, that’s just the act he puts up. I don’t really like the idea of him being arrogant and dirty (as I already have a third character that is very similar and I don’t want overlap). I just believe it’s a whole lot funnier that this random guy comes in and the Chaotix hate him for no particular reason. Kinda like a Dinkleberg situation.
However, I do like the idea of his Chao (which I still don’t have a name or final design for) being his secretary and sidekick.

Sounds surrounded Basil from all sides. Waves of the ocean, music blaring from the radios, kids playing in the sand. He was still focused on the task at hand. He didn’t want to do work on the beach, but he had to. Some woman was paying him to help find her lost watch. Not really a normal job for a detective for hire, but it’s not like he had much to else to do.
Beep. Beep. Beep went the metal detector. His feet stomped across the sand dunes. He always hated the outdoors. The heat and humidity, the other people around him, and the noise. He would rather just stay inside in his study. A nice glass of whiskey, classical music, and air conditioning sounded like Heaven right now.
Sounds of commotion came apparent very quickly. Although he could not make out the words, it was getting closer. His curiosity was piqued, and he shortly figured out why. Someone was attacking.
