Classic straight blowback .32acp guns can still put holes in people, but modern short recoil double stack .380s outperform them in all possible practical roles with equal or smaller size/weight.
Way down at the edge of what is ergonomically viable for a tiny gun, you can fit .380 into that size, but for the recoil sensitive, it may be a bit much. With those priorities, that's where a [short recoil operated] .32acp gun is conceivably still the very most practical option, particularly light recoil even in a seven ounce gun you can barely get your ring finger on, while keeping the power appreciably above .22lr.
But individual preferences and circumstances are very important, so if you've already got one and don't care too much, inherited a pallet of ammo, it's all you can get before you expect to need it, or you fall in love with a particular gun, and it's a .32, by all means, go with that.
