which is akin to an inverted personality rather than an opposite one. Sakura having cuck guilt and being a yandere were always parts of her character, and so was Shirou being a horndog with a twisted sense of honesty. You spent allll of SN seeing Shirou take down characters like Gil only to then find out he's a saint only in comparison to them.
One of my favorite parts that hinted massively towards the Angra connection was how Avenger was hellbent on wanting Bazett to leave him behind while he gets pulverized by Berserker for just long enough to guarantee her safety. Unlike Archer in Fate who had a modicum of cockiness driving him to do his best, Avenger just wanted the best for the girl he liked and did not care a single time about his wellbeing besides when he was acting cowardly.
