I think a lot of yaoi stories by strait women have adult/boy or a predator/prey dynamic and it’s them processing their roles in society. They are not equal to a man, but exist in a world where they have the same rights as a young boy. No control over their lives, but with some social protections that feel more like a cage. Japan/Korea is extremely conservative so most of these women had rotten lives.
