It seemed to me that there should have been more story and plot in the game, but due to the narrative style adopted in soulslikes, they can't present the plot properly, and in the end, all the characters seem to be developed, but somehow alienated from the game world.
When the credits roll, you can see how the characters spend time, have fun, and interact, but in the game, they are just statues that come to the hub and stand in their spots until the end of the game.
