Nothing is over. Nothing. You don’t just turn it off. It wasn’t my Halo. Bungie gave it to us, we didn’t ask 343 to tear it apart.
We did what we had to do to keep it alive, custom games, LAN parties, community mods, but they wouldn’t let it stay that way. And now I get online and I see all these new kids on Twitter and paypigs praising battle passes, store coatings, cat ears and half-finished seasons. Who the hell are they to tell me what Halo is, huh? Who are they? Were they there on Blood Gulch, on Lockout? Did they even grind legendary on Halo 2 with no checkpoint?

For you. For me, Halo was everything. Back then we had a code. You had my file share, I had yours. Forge, split-screen, clans, custom nights that lasted until dawn. Now there’s nothing.

Back then I could run a clan, host a private match, make stupid maps in Foundry, lead a team in matchmaking.
Now I can’t even get a lobby without crashes or desync.

Where is everybody? I had friends, whole lists full of them, we’d spend hours messing around in custom games, making theater montages, talking about lore.
Now it’s empty. Just me, booting up MCC, hoping to feel something again.
