Yeah, it's pretty annoying. One Piece's strong adherence to a "pecking order" or a status quo within the crew has always been my least favorite aspects. I've never been a particular fan of the whole "monster trio" that is now "wings of the pirate king" dynamic that is shoved down our throats, it robs us of interesting characters that can shake things up and left the other straw hats in the void.
Remember back in Water 7 when Franky duked out with Luffy and nearly fucked Blueno up? that was really cool. Imagine if a straw hat like Nami got a really powerful logia devil fruit? that also sounds cool to me (Goro Goro no mi Nami is awesome).
