I'm sorry my write-up had such a negative effect on you; I am someone who enjoys horror aspects and putting characters through the wringer, but it's perfectly understandable that someone would be entirely against that. It's a matter of preference and yours is respectable; even without the Stroggification stuff I think flashbanging an imaginary friend with reality-destroying eldritch knowledge and telling it to cope would lead to both an interesting and admittedly horrifying character arc, which can be taken or left.

On this subject, I think we're going to find out that the reason Warden really doesn't want innocent Darkners in the Dark Jail is that he's aware that he's in an unstable, abandoned mine and he doesn't want anyone hanging out there more than necessary. The Dark Jail isn't Castle Town because someone fucking around could get everyone, light or dark, killed. The locked door is where the entrance was sealed, and the final Chapter is the Outlaw going in there and Kanacole, against the Warden's pleas, following her into a place of no light whatsoever.
