So I don't know exactly what I'm doing and am hoping for some autist help me out.

Sometimes when I mod for gas it does a metric shitload of damage and steel path enemies die almost instantly. Sometimes it works as expected. What the fuck is wrong with this damage type? I was taking a break during Jade Shadows so I've been slowly experimenting with the elements and gas is the only one that I can't figure out. It seems like under certain circumstances you get the cloud of death back, but I can't figure out what the fuck I'm doing right in those setups.
