They've added several somewhat satisfying ways of killing him after release: you can now hand him over to the madrakes. Or hand him over to the guy in the mask, thus making the deal with the Black Heart Kabal, short lived though it is.
My favorite though is still allowing my dogmachuds to have their way with him in the Pit. It's such a great scene in which your companions demonstrate an iota of personal agency - something the game severely lacks
