Didn't realize there's a new thread, but reposting some of my thoughts from the last thread.
Not to say the Paradise is made primarily for adult fans, but I feel like Bandai got a lot of feedback from nostalgic OG/Plus/Connection-era adults which is likely why the tone and design shift has changed so dramatically from the cutesy humanoid aesthetic the series was going for from the anime onwards. If you read interviews about the Connection remakes or the more recent push they've made regarding Corner Shop, they tend to talk a lot about "Heisei-era kids" who grew up on Tamagotchi who are now adults and nostalgic for how things were back then, the Tamagotchi revival boom, and how they're making things with those adult fans in mind.

It's also worth mentioning that Corner Shop's meme status in Japan was also pushed by adult fans who preferred the original character style, with one in particular even getting interviewed for the series' official fanbook.
