>You weren't there.
You dumb fucking faggot I bought Sun on day one. I noticed it immediately when Bank compatibility was added. That was my turn off point for the franchise so SwSh didn't come as a surprise to me. The reason I'm bringing up the menu is because the menu was the proof that they still wanted to have games document the franchise's focal point and legacy. Without it, it's easier to wean off the shills from wanting all the Pokemon in every game. Trying to dissuade my intent is a fool's errand. My six years has been well spent not spending a fucking dime on this franchise because it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I'm here to enjoy the memories of the older games and make fun of you all for still seething over an obvious outcome from a failure of a studio that couldn't keep up with impossible demands they set upon themselves. I'd been avoiding the obvious elephant of the room that RS caused the original dexcut because "as long as they're in the data it's okay" which has always been inherent cope. The last generation to really let you fill out a Pokedex with just the current games released in its era was Gen IV
This isn't about game quality or even the people in charge making compromises for their corporate overlords. It's about the fact that a machine can't keep pumping out content at a higher quality with the exact same settings. When game development got bigger and more expansive, Game Freak never changed their methodology of game design and that's why we're here. They kept doing the exact same shit for over 20 years, and while maybe it worked back in the 2000s, the higher expectations of the industry and community hurts the games themselves. I don't think Tajiri or even Masuda expected these games to be big pseudo-MMOs with all these insane multiplayer features like Raids or exploring each other's 3D open worlds on a big HD console. They made Dragon Quest-lites
