Does anyone happen to know how fighters worked in regards to multiple attacks in Holmes basic? Did it carry over the rule from 1e, or was it the first to drop multiple attacks?

This is similar to my own thought process. I'm starting to want to give fighters AND ONLY FIGHTERS extra attacks in B/X, specifically because of how hard they were nerfed from OD&D, while the monsters remain essentially unchanged.
