As long as the vast majority of Americans truly and strongly believe in the constitution itself, and what it ultimately stands for, the military will never, ever do such a thing in the very first place. Because the military will be filled with patriotic Americans who are sworn to support and defend the constitution against all threats. The moment we lose faith and integrity in the constitution, is the exact moment we lose faith in ourselves. And if worse case scenario does happen, that's what asymmetric and guerilla warfare is for. It wouldn't be the first time Americans fought for their freedoms against a superior military force and against tyranny and won.
