Garry is a dickhead but he really was handed a shit sandwich with Source 2. By all accounts it is a fucking mess and his team needed to spend all this time unfucking it. Valve never made usable tools for source 2 like they did source and they added features as needed.
No surprise Source 2 is fucked up given Valve is using AI code.
