Ephraim is so based. His POVs were the best. I loved Iron Gold for the same reason as it gave the series the valuable world building it needed. One big criticism I had though was that it expected the readers to know who the fuck Apollonius was as there was a history between him and Darrow that we didn’t know. It was jarring trying to understand what was happening.
