If said anon is American, he might genuinely believe think that kind of laws are communism. Many Americans I have talked with finds government IDs and public transit communism in my country(and well many Americans thinks my country is very communist in general and very Russian too).
Still I think this whole initiative would just benefit everyone and signed it last year already. Hopefully we get more people from all around EU, my country has more than enough votes already but I'll make some of my extended family to also vote for it.
