it isn't the best by the virtue of having to play as Saracen, a naval/monk civ that constantly has to go up against inf/cav/siege civs in every scenario. You can't monk your way out of every scenario setup, and mamlukes are overrated as fuck.
For me, it's the aztec campaign. Pic related, conquerors demo mission and making a dock in the fucking pond next to your base and the mayas, having no idea what I'm doing as a kid. I remember making a few basic galleys and AI having no idea how to counter it, allowing me to safely gather wood behind the pond and sell it in the market for peanuts
