The problem actually points to a bigger problem in the game industry which is that freedom of expression is dead. Player avatars are stock provided, player sprays are the same, custom servers don't exist, mods are actively fought against and banned, and you can even get banned for being mildly rude in the chat or chatting too much.
So, naturally all the people who NEED to broadcast their identity flock to TF2. The last bastion where you can loudly declare you're a furry and run a furry server, or a tranny server, etc.
