For all that is wrong with Iran, they have not done this. There are still fire temples, they also did not destroy the old Pre-Islamic monuments or tombs, it's all still there. They even have done a lot of work helping the Iraqi government restore and preserve monuments that were part of the Persian Empire, and tried hard to get the Taliban to chill and not ruin things in Afghanistan as well.

Course their branch of Islam is weird and they don't freak out over Muhammed being drawn along with some other things most Muslims hate.
