Do you have trouble with coloring and rendering in general? It helped me to draw solely with color and/or value as practice just so I could get used to it. It's also important to consider how much you want to work on different parts of a piece. A finished piece could still be have complex lineart and cel shading, for example. Or no lineart and all rendering. Or you could just have plain ass simple lineart and coloring! The point where a piece is "finished" varies greatly and I recommend you keep it simple/do the bare minimum if you can't get past any of the steps in your process.
