It is. Nora and Swann's romance is amplified by the fact that it's also an exploration of their awakening, or lack thereof in Swann's case. To Kat's benefit, she can end up with Nora too but you don't see the courtship; also it feels like Kat's just more into Swann regardless if you set up the kiss in the trail. Kinda reminiscent of Steph's push and pull until she relents. Autumn is just a right place, wrong time situation, both in '95 and '22. She was still hung up with the whole Dean thing, though she opens up eventually, same with the woman in '22. With the added stress of her work (or something else), she just wasn't emotionally/romantically available. Really hope they delve deeper into the relationships in the sequel, these connections are really special.

It is awkward at first but I always attribute it to the developers being simply French. I won't go so far to call it perverse but the French are at the forefront when it comes to transgressive media that deals with uncomfortable truths. I'm not advocating it but it does happen. The game's so much more than that too lmao.
