I like and dislike her characterization in BtS because of its touch and go aspects. However, I agree and prefer the air of mystery around her since we can imprint our own assumptions; should we believe Chloe idealization of her, the smattering of derisory remarks about town, Frank's puppy dog love etc. I take her comic version as canon for myself

I would say that Nora is an 11/10.
Her romance path starts off amazing (I really felt some of those awkward, gay, attempts at flirting) and just keeps building on itself until you get to this inevitable, tragic ending that I think has more impact than the totality of the emotional scenes from all of the LiS games combined. Even more impact than the gut punch that the entire game had been building up to.
I have never been more attached to a character or invested in a romance. Everything about Nora and Snora is so well done that it just has to be the dev intended romance.

definitely the fan favorite so far but I'm half-expecting don't nod to make the endings in a sequel akin to LiS 2's; albeit maybe a little happier. Bittersweet as they are, I don't think LR's endings are comparable to LiS 2's in the sense that the relationships differ. Not to take away from LR's romance but Brotherhood is inexorably more potent imo; bound by blood or no. LR trumps LiS 2 in a dramatic sense that there's no closure, for Dylan (her story is definitely not over) and those trapped in The Abyss as of yet anyway.

yeh and no. I did take a look around the observatory and fine arts building and it's just a lot of wasted spaces. I didn't realize the FAB has a second floor and there's 2 empty offices there. The observatory has nice lounge-like areas that just aren't utilized. There's also an excerpt from the Jabberwocky poem in the other lit professor's office, near the ceiling, that I missed when playing the game.

That's why a good remake should necessarily push harder on the relationship angle that was not made overtly explicit in the original game. The problem (putting aside the x-men shit that any sequel would need to deal with), is that DE 1 did a large amount of damage to the pricefield ship. The only way they could actually repair that would be with the whole Safi mental manipulation theory.
Just adding back Chloe without attempting to repair just how damaging her painfully out of character break up was is not going to be some instant recipe for successes.
The best possible outcome would be to abandon the DE timeline and have Max just permanently migrate to some new timeline where bae and bay are merged. But even that would have problems that I doubt whoever is left at D9 has the writing ability or care to actually address.
